busy July weekend...

While Rob worked on the new steps, we were on our very best behavior...
Noah helped out by watering his flowers AKA weeds...
Peeking around the tree, hiding from big brother...

Attack of the giant noodles!

Madeline checking out her roses...
super-7-year-old-Sam
little giggles
Noah in search of more 'flowers' to water...
Time to fix some scrambled eggs. Madeline did all the cooking for us;
being so very careful not to burn herself or the eggs.Almost, almost...
Perfect! She decided since she was the 'cooker' she should have the biggest portion; sounded about right to me.
Then there was a jumping/landing/arm incident that led to Madeline's make-shift 'cast'. (She was/is 100%)Sam trying to help her into her PJ's...
which led her arm pain into a new leg pain, so now she couldn't walk of course, because she had a cast on her arm...
which led into all kinds of head, finger, ear, and toe pain...
that she had to sleep on the couch that night; and Sam so selflessly offered to sleep on the big comfy chair next to Madeline, 'just in case Mom; just in case (with a heavy sigh of a burdened big-brother taking care of his very ill little sister), just in case she needs me...it's the least I can do as her older brother." Sure. We will need to remind them of this respect, love, and tag-team-playing of the parental units when they are older & only have annoyance for each other.

So there they slept, all night in the living room. The next night Noah Baker said he needed to sleep on the couch "with a pillow barrier" too; because he still has an owie on his knee. So now we have officially started a tradition of the injured child getting to sleep on the couch. Hmmm, might be alright if I didn't have three. But I do. And the chances of the 7, 5 & 3 year-old getting injured again are pretty high...
yikes!
