Jicama: The large, edible, tuberous root of a tropical American plant, Pachyrhizus erosus, of the legume family, eaten as a vegetable either raw or boiled. Should NOT be put in the same bag as one's tomatoes. Don't let this shiny, mildly acid, pulpy, red fruit fool you, it's other garden friends took one for the team; & now I have ONE tomato for my salads this week. On the upside...I have plenty of jicama.
Snow storm #587,892,468 this season.
